Deck cleaning and restoration across High Point, NC, removing mold, algae and gray weathering.

Bringing a High Point deck back

Most decks we look at here are not dirty so much as grown over. Mold and algae get down into the grain, the surface goes gray, and it turns slick. By the time it is slick on the stairs it has stopped being a looks problem. The fix is a wood safe cleaning solution, enough dwell time for it to work, and a low pressure rinse. High pressure damages decks, so we do not use it for this job.

What gets cleaned

Every board, the rails and spindles, the stairs, the skirting and the framing you can see from the yard. Furniture and grills get moved, anything that needs covering gets covered, and the beds around the deck are wet down before and after.

Railings and pergolas

Pressure treated rails, cedar and pergola framing all get the same treatment. Painted rails get looked at first, because failing paint will come off along with the mold whether anybody wants it to or not, and you should hear that before we start rather than after.

Best season

Spring and fall. If you are staining, we clean, you give the boards two or three days to dry, and then the stain actually holds instead of sealing mold in under it.

Half a day, most jobs

Multi-level decks and long railing runs take longer, and that goes in the estimate up front.
